Hey, Lets rearrange the material to be in this order. I think it will serve us better. Text Analysis of Lind, D.M., Marchal, W.G. & Wathen, S.A. (2004). Statistical techniques in business & economics (12th ed.). New York: The McGraw-Hill Company. Week ONE Topic – 1: Business Research and Descriptive Statistics (as illustrated in marketing decisions). Chapters 1, 2, 3 & 4 Week TWO Topic – 1: The applications of Probability Theory (as illustrated in marketing decisions). Chapters 5, 6, 7 Week THREE Topic – 1: Parametric Statistics (as illustrated in operations management decisions). Chapters 8, 9, 10, & 11 Week FOUR Topic – 1: The application of ANOVA and Non-Parametric Statistics (as illustrated in operations management and marketing decisions). Chapters 12, 15 & 16 Week FIVE Topic – 1: The Application of Correlation and Regression Analysis (as illustrated in strategy formulation and implementation). Chapters 13 & 14 Week SIX Topic – 1: Time Series, Forecasting, and Quality Control (as illustrated in project management). Chapters 17 & 19

During Week 1, we covered the first four chapters of the Lind book.  

Week One-
Business Research and Descriptive Statistics
Week one covers four chapters:
• Chapter 1: What is statistics?
• Chapter 2: Frequency Distributions and graphic presentation
• Chapter 3: Numerical Measures
• Chapter 4: Displaying and Exploring Data

Week one introduces four important terms:
• Statistics
• Frequency Distribution
• Measures of Location/Dispersion
• Descriptive Statistics

1. You were introduced to Craig Stevens

2. You were introduced to the Mobile of Excellent Management and talked about where we would find statistics used in business.

3. You were introduced to Statistics?

4. You were introduced to Statistical Definitions and Language

5. You were introduced to Descriptive and Graphical Statistics and Simple Calculations and Theories.

Class Two

During Week 2 we will cover the chapter 5, 6, and 7 of the Lind book.

1. You will be introduced to Probability Concepts in Chapter 5

2. We will investigate Discrete Probability Distributions in Chapter 6

3. We will investigate the Normal Probability Distribution in Chapter 7.

Class Three

During Week 3 we will cover Chapters 8, 9, 10, and 11

1. Sampling Methods and the Central Limit Theorem in Chapter 8

2. Confidence Intervals in Chapter 9.

3. Hypothesis Testing in Chapters 10 and 11.

Class Four

During Week 4 we will cover Chapters 12, 15, and 16

Week four introduces two topics:
• Analysis of variance (ANOVA)
• More Hypotheses testing

1. Analysis of Variance in Chapter 12

2. Nonparametric Methods: Chi-Square Applications in Chapter 15.

3. Nonparametric Methods: Analysis of Ranked Data in Chapter 16.
