¡Using BI is the process of
.assimilating data collected via one or more applications used to facilitate the processing of activities associated with a business
.formulating that data in and around key primary indicators (KPI) of a business (referred to as dimensions of business)
.analyzing the data via a single KPI (dimension) or in conjunction with two or more PKI’s (called slicing, dicing and data mining)
.reporting via graphical business concepts: trends, KPI comparisons across another dimension, relationships of data across dimensions, high-level overviews of business via dimensions for the purpose of supporting a better (more-informed) business decision
.giving the business user the wherewithal to produce these reports himself or herself at any time
